The March Split the Plate partner – East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl

East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl
UUCT’S March, 2018 Split-the- Plate Partner

The East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl, a non-profit organization founded in 2005, began with the goal of addressing hunger in the eastern side of Tuscaloosa and the Alberta City area. Currently, the center is located in the Hargrove Memorial United Methodist Church building at Loop Road and Hargrove Road East on Wednesday and Friday, and on Sunday at Alberta Baptist Church rear parking area. Serving approximately 150 hot meals each Wednesday and Friday, the East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl serves an additional 150 brown bag lunches every Sunday with more provided during the holidays.

Through donations and annual fund-raisers, the East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl receives the necessary financial help to continue this ministry. With sustained community support, they hope to have the capacity and resources to meet the needs in East Tuscaloosa.
