The November Split the Plate Partner – Move to Amend Tuscaloosa

Move to Amend – Tuscaloosa
UUCT’S November Split-the-Plate Partner

Move to Amend-Tuscaloosa is a local affiliate of Move to Amend, a national coalition of hundreds of organizations and over 460,000 individuals committed to social and economic justice, ending corporate rule, and building a vibrant democracy that is genuinely accountable to the people, not corporate interests. They are working to amend the U.S. Constitution to reverse the Citizens United U.S. Supreme Court decision and roll back the U. S. Supreme Court’s imposed doctrines of “corporate personhood” and that “money equals speech.” Move to Amend is working for a more democratic society in which all of the people, not just the wealthiest one percent, can have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting our lives.

The local Move to Amend-Tuscaloosa affiliate was founded by members of our congregation and organized in 2013. Education and advocacy for this issue and local economic, racial, environmental, gender, and sexual justice issues are areas of relevance.

Checks or cash not designated for pledge or other specific needs are split with Move to Amend-Tuscaloosa. To make a 100% donation to this organization, envelopes are available on the foyer table. The address is:
