UUCT’S October 2017 Split-the-Plate Partner

West Alabama AIDS Outreach (WAAO) is a nonprofit organization committed to educating the community about HIV/AIDS and providing services for those affected. They also advocate at national and local levels for funding to support those living with HIV/AIDS. WAAO social workers can offer a variety of services addressing both short and long-term needs. These include:

• Testing and age-appropriate prevention education
• Housing services
• Medication purchase or emergency financial help
• Transportation assistance
• Food bank and personal care items
• Support groups and helpline referral
