The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) is an African-American civil rights organization founded in January 1955, following the Montgomery, AL bus boycott.  It is closely identified with the work of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Our Social Justice Team works primarily with the Tuscaloosa Chapter of SCLC.  In January of each year, we mobilize our UUCT congregation to participate in the annual M.L. King, Jr. Unity March in conjunction with the celebration of his birth.
